Grand Canyon: Road Signs

This probably sounds like a strange topic for a blog post, but early in the trip I noticed the variety of road crossing signs, including many I had never seen before. So I thought I'd start cataloging them.

This was--of course--my favorite, and also one I had never seen before.

Yes, people are still allowed to cross the road in the Grand Canyon too.

This one is technically a trail sign, not a road sign, but at this point I was collecting the whole set.

I was particularly impressed with the variety of ungulate crossing signs. I'm not even sure that I got all of them.

A few of these--including this one, just north of Sedona--were on the way back from the Grand Canyon, not in the park itself. I always wonder whether these are actually helpful.

  1. This road Signs are too much useful. This Signs can be so much beneficial if we are going some where we don't know. By this Signs we can find our way easily.

    1. How helpful do you think the "Watch for Rocks" sign is? It is not very useful for finding our way. Do you think it really increases drivers' caution? An interesting question.

  2. My favorite is the "dangerous overlook" sign. Really artistic.
